Chapter 1: Choosing My Career

I am an office worker. I chose this job because of my mother. I am in charge of educating people, mainly teaching English. I organize lesson plans with my co-worker and teach English to students. I never considered this job before my mother recommended it to me. I used to think that teaching was not a man's job and that, as a man, I should become a businessman and make a lot of money for myself. However, I now feel that this job is my calling.

At first, I was unsure whether I would enjoy teaching. I was nervous about speaking in front of people and wondered if I had the patience to guide students. But as time passed, I realized how rewarding it was to see students learn and grow. I started to take pride in my ability to help others understand English, and their progress became my motivation. Teaching is not just about giving information; it is about inspiring students to think and communicate confidently.

나는 사무직에서 일하는 사람이다. 내가 이 직업을 선택한 이유는 어머니 덕분이다. 나는 사람들을 교육하는 일을 맡고 있으며, 주로 영어를 가르친다. 동료와 함께 수업 계획을 짜고 학생들에게 영어를 가르치는 것이 내 일이다. 사실 어머니가 이 직업을 추천해 주기 전까지는 한 번도 교사가 되는 것을 고려해 본 적이 없었다. 나는 가르치는 일이 남자의 일이 아니라고 생각했고, 남자로서 사업가가 되어 많은 돈을 버는 것이 당연하다고 여겼다. 하지만 이제는 이 일이 나의 소명이라고 느낀다.

처음에는 이 일이 나에게 맞을지 확신이 없었다. 사람들 앞에서 말하는 것이 부담스럽기도 했고, 학생들을 인내심을 가지고 가르칠 수 있을지 걱정되었다. 하지만 시간이 지나면서 학생들이 배우고 성장하는 모습을 보는 것이 보람으로 다가왔다. 영어를 가르치면서 학생들이 점점 자신감을 얻는 모습을 보며 나도 큰 만족감을 느꼈다. 가르친다는 것은 단순히 정보를 전달하는 것이 아니라, 학생들이 사고하고 소통하는 방법을 배우도록 돕는 과정이라는 것을 깨달았다.

 

Chapter 2: My Experience as a Teacher

(제 2장: 교사로서의 나의 경험)

 

I have been doing this job for sixteen years. I intend to stay in this field for as long as possible. The only thing I don’t like is that sometimes young people misbehave, which can make classes difficult to manage. It is challenging to handle them at times, and I feel that they are different from previous generations.

Over the years, I have learned different ways to handle students who misbehave. Some students lose focus easily, while others find it hard to follow the rules. Instead of simply scolding them, I try to understand their problems and find a solution. I learned that building trust with students is the key to managing the classroom effectively.

나는 이 일을 16년째 하고 있다. 가능한 한 오랫동안 이 분야에서 일하고 싶다. 다만, 가끔 학생들이 말을 듣지 않을 때가 있어서 수업을 운영하기 어려울 때가 있다. 요즘 학생들은 예전 세대와는 다른 점이 많다고 느껴진다. 어떤 때는 그들을 다루는 것이 쉽지 않다.

오랜 시간 동안 나는 학생들을 효과적으로 지도하는 다양한 방법을 배웠다. 어떤 학생들은 쉽게 집중력을 잃고, 어떤 학생들은 규칙을 따르는 것이 어려워 보인다. 단순히 혼내기보다는 학생들이 왜 그런 행동을 하는지 이해하려고 노력한다. 학생들과 신뢰를 쌓는 것이 교실을 잘 운영하는 핵심이라는 것을 깨달았다.

 

Chapter 3: The Importance of My Job

(제 3장: 나의 직업이 가지는 의미)

 

My job is very important to me because it allows me to serve my community and my country. It also helps my family live well. With my salary, I can buy what I need and maintain financial stability. Since I receive a paycheck every month, I can balance my life. Secondly, my job gives me a sense of pride. I always feel that I am contributing, even in small ways, to my community, country, and family. I earn enough money to pay off my mortgage and save for the future.

Another important aspect of my job is the impact I have on students’ futures. Some students come from difficult backgrounds and have little motivation to learn. When I see them gain confidence and improve their skills, I know that I am making a difference. Education is a powerful tool that can change lives, and I am proud to be a part of that process.

내 직업은 나에게 매우 중요하다. 이 일을 통해 지역사회와 국가에 기여할 수 있기 때문이다. 또한, 내 가족이 안정적인 생활을 하는 데도 큰 도움이 된다. 급여를 받으면서 필요한 것을 살 수 있고, 경제적으로도 안정된 삶을 유지할 수 있다. 매달 월급을 받기 때문에 생활에 균형을 맞출 수 있다. 두 번째로, 이 직업은 나에게 자부심을 느끼게 해 준다. 비록 작은 일이지만, 나는 항상 지역사회, 국가, 그리고 가족을 위해 기여하고 있다는 느낌을 받는다. 그리고 집 대출을 갚고 미래를 위해 저축할 만큼의 수입도 벌고 있다.

또한, 내가 하는 일이 학생들의 미래에 미치는 영향을 생각하면 더욱 의미가 깊어진다. 어떤 학생들은 어려운 환경에서 자라며 배움에 대한 동기 부여가 부족하다. 하지만 그들이 자신감을 얻고 실력이 향상되는 모습을 볼 때, 나는 내가 의미 있는 일을 하고 있다고 느낀다. 교육은 인생을 바꿀 수 있는 강력한 도구이며, 나는 그 과정에 기여하고 있다는 사실이 자랑스럽다.

 

Chapter 4: My Future in This Career

(제 4장: 나의 직업과 미래)

 

I am very happy with my current job. I also try to get along well with my colleagues. I believe that if I were to change jobs, I might not find another position with such great people and a good working environment. I don’t plan to change my job until I retire. I am confident that I will be able to develop my career here. If I keep working hard, I will continue to improve. What a wonderful job!

I also dream of mentoring new teachers in the future. Many young teachers struggle in the beginning, just as I did. I want to share my experiences and help them grow into confident and effective educators. Teaching is not just my job—it is my passion, and I hope to inspire others to love it as much as I do.

나는 현재 직업에 매우 만족하고 있다. 또한, 동료들과도 좋은 관계를 유지하려고 노력한다. 만약 직장을 옮긴다면, 지금처럼 좋은 사람들과 좋은 근무 환경을 찾기 어려울 것이라고 생각한다. 그래서 은퇴할 때까지 이 직업을 계속 유지할 계획이다. 계속해서 노력한다면 더 나은 교사가 될 수 있을 것이다. 정말 멋진 직업이다!

앞으로는 신입 교사들에게 멘토 역할을 하고 싶다. 처음 교사가 된 사람들은 나처럼 많은 어려움을 겪는다. 나는 그들에게 도움을 주고, 자신감을 가질 수 있도록 도와주고 싶다. 가르치는 일은 단순한 직업이 아니라 나의 열정이다. 나는 앞으로도 이 직업을 사랑하며, 다른 사람들에게도 그 가치를 전하고 싶다
